DEVELOPER CONSULTANT

Using Microsoft Access 2003 and 97, as well as Microsoft SQL Server 2000, upgrading legacy Access applications for compatibility with new, soon to be installed data structure.  Using T-SQL, Access SQL Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and Data Transformation Services (DTS), developing and debugging the import of data from multiple DB2 databases and other data sources into SQL Server and Access databases.

DEVELOPER CONSULTANT

Consolidated real estate contract data for apartment investment and management company imported from multiple Excel spreadsheets into a single Microsoft Access 2003 database.  Developed custom tools for inputting, searching and generating reports.  Returned in March ’07 to develop additional reports and enhancements.

DEVELOPER CONSULTANT

Developed management system for large Hollywood film library/storage facility with an inventory of over 800,000 items.  Imported and corrected faulty data from legacy DOS FoxPro database into Microsoft SQL Server 2000 using DTS to handle customer list, inventory, check-in and check-out of items, monthly and service fees calculation, cash and credit card receipts, billing and accounts receivable, using T-SQL to create stored procedures, triggers and functions.  Created user interface using Microsoft Access 2003 and VBA.  In addition, built an ASP.Net 2.0 web application using VB.Net and T-SQL enabling customers to log on, view their inventory, and place orders over the internet.  Built an additional Access/SQL Server 2000 application to scan inventory on the warehouse shelves and compare results with inventory records in the database.

 

4/02-Ongoing   PsychSites.Com

                            San Diego, California

DEVELOPER CONSULTANT

Using Microsoft Visual Interdev, Microsoft Access 2000, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), upgraded static Web directory of San Diego area psychologists and psychiatrists to Active Server Page (ASP)-based on line application that enables users to search Access database and dynamically create pages based on information requested.   Returned in 2006-2007 for total redesign of PsychSites.Com, converting to ASP.net 2.0.

 

5/03-1/05            Research Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. (formerly Research Scientists, Inc.)

                            SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Using Microsoft SQL Server 2000, T-SQL, ColdFusion, Microsoft Access 2000, Excel, Visual Basic, and VBA, developed software tools for storing, analyzing and documenting data required by the Federal Drug Administration on behalf of pharmaceutical companies conducting drug studies.  Wrote and executed test scripts for the formal validation, per FDA standards, of software used in drug studies.

                            DEVELOPER CONSULTANT

On an emergency basis (prior programmer had unexpectedly left the project one week before deadline), completed Microsoft Access-based system for evaluating applications to the Getty Leadership Institute.  Created complex statistical reports, an interface for entering parameters and launching each of the reports, and Visual Basic for Applications programs for recreating each report in Microsoft Excel.

Designed, installed and implemented reporting system for testing of new medication with experimental subjects using Microsoft Access 2000 as a front end to a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database.  Developed numerous reports with the assistance of an RSI employee under my supervision.  Created user interface and Visual Basic code for generating unique sequence of reports for selected experimental subjects depending upon each individual subject’s course of treatment.

                            Design, installation and periodic upgrade of custom Patient Management System for weight loss clinic using Microsoft Access 2000  to record and analyze data regarding patients’ progress and course of treatment, their referring physicians and medical histories, the induction of new and former patients, and inquiries from potential new patients.

Collaborated with a team of programmers using Visual Basic for Applications, ActiveX controls and DAO in the design, implementation and documentation of Microsoft Access 95 and 2000 custom database applications for clients including BMW; Nutro; Haight, Brown & Bonesteel and KPMG.  In addition, created a number of applications for in-house use, including a database for managing job applications, a system for administering on-line examinations, and a Customer Support Management System that features automatic generation of email messages to coordinate the efforts of customer support representatives located in several cities across the United States.

Using Microsoft Access 95 and Visual Basic for Applications, created Case Management Database System, and have periodically upgraded it, for use by four offices of large law firm for maintaining contact, history, court and other data pertaining to the firm’s cases and clients.  Includes a dynamic, customizable reporting system that allows end users to easily design new reports.  System utilizes ODBC to access a variety of data sources including Juris and FoxPro, as well as native Access data.
